The Charleston Memorial Stair Climb will pay tribute to the 412 First Responders lost on 9/11.  We will honor the 343 firefighters, 1 NYFP, 60 law enforcement officers, and 8 emergency medical  technicians who made the ultimate sacrifice with their lives on 9/11/01.  In addition, we will also be honoring and recognizing local first responders who have perished in the line of duty.

ONE TEAM...ONE MISSION...NEVER FORGET

About the event:

Climbers participating will climb 110 flights of stairs at the North Charleston Coliseum.  These flights will be counted as you go up the steps and as you come down.  The climb will begin promptly at 8:46am, the time the first tower was struck.  We invite all to join us in this memorial event!  It is not a race and we will be there until all climbers have finished.  First Responders are encouraged to climb in their appropriate attire.  For example, fire department personnel are encouraged to wear bunker gear and SCBA.  PD are encouraged to wear vests and belts.

The Charleston Memorial Stair Climb is a sanctioned event of the Association of Memorial Stair Climbs.  The 2023 event will once again take place at the North Charleston Coliseum.
